Healthcare professionals in Pleasant Hill no longer need to block off a full day to complete their American Heart Association® training. Safety Training Seminars, located at 200 Gregory Lane, Suite C103, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523, offers Self-Guided Learning™ courses for BLS, ACLS, and PALS—giving nurses, physicians, EMTs, and allied health workers a faster, more flexible path to their American Heart Association Course Completion eCard.
Whether you work at John Muir Medical Center in nearby Walnut Creek, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez, or a local clinic just off Contra Costa Boulevard, this training format fits around your schedule—not the other way around.
Self-Guided Learning™ is an American Heart Association-approved learning approach that combines two components:
Learners complete both components on their own schedule. Upon successful completion, they receive an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard for BLS, ACLS, or PALS. This eCard meets employer and regulatory requirements at hospitals, clinics, dental offices, and healthcare facilities across California and nationwide.
This approach differs from traditional classroom training and blended learning, where a scheduled instructor leads the skills session. With Self-Guided Learning, no instructor is present during the skills session. The CPR Verification Station™ learning center handles skills evaluation independently using advanced simulation technology.
The cognitive portion of every Self-Guided Learning course runs on True Adaptive™ learning powered by Area9 Lyceum. This technology continuously assesses each learner’s knowledge and confidence, then adjusts the content path in real time.
Here’s what that means practically:
The online learning activity is accessible on desktop, laptop, or tablet. Learners can pause, resume, and review content at any point. Most students complete the BLS online component in one to two hours, and ACLS or PALS in two to three hours.
Completing the online learning activity alone does not result in an AHA Course Completion eCard. The in-person skills session must also be successfully completed.
After finishing the online learning activity, learners visit the CPR Verification Station™ learning center at Safety Training Seminars in Pleasant Hill to complete their hands-on skills session.
During this visit, learners independently perform required psychomotor skills—compressions, ventilations, and two-rescuer CPR sequences. The station provides:
There is no live instructor coaching or facilitation. Every learner is evaluated against the same objective standard, which removes variability and ensures consistent results. The skills session typically takes 30 minutes for BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses.

EXCELLENT Based on 99 reviews Posted on Louise CatacutanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. CPR i real life can be hard and tiring. But honestly i almost injured and wrist doing this on the mannequin. It was so hard my palm and my wrist until now is red and in pain an hour after the test. I don’t know if i was really doing it wrong on the 2 person test bec i did the 1 person test and passed it . Took me 3-4 times doing the 2 person adult cpr. Or is that just a test of endurance bec i was there for 30mins. Has anyone injured their themselves doing this? Doesn’t feel right.Posted on Connie CrabbeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
